Saturday is FAFSA Day in North Carolina

Did you know that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) determines more than just your eligibility for federal financial aid? In fact, private and public universities also use the data to determine aid. That’s why this document is key for students who will be attending college in the upcoming year!

Fortunately, there is in-person help available to students and their parents this coming Saturday during FAFSA Day. On FAFSA Day, financial aid administrators and financial aid specialists will be available at locations throughout North Carolina to answer questions about the form and help with its completion.

Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an important step in the process of determining how you will pay for college. This form determines your eligibility for a wide variety of types of aid and helps to determine your Expected Family Contribution, which is the amount that your family is expected to pay  out-of-pocket. While completing this form is critical, it can be confusing for some students and families.
