“Amy Denton, a regional representative for the College Foundation of North Carolina, said the changes mean students can complete and submit their FAFSA earlier and avoid having to go back and make corrections after tax season.
‘I can see this meaning there will be less corrections, less opportunities for verifications families have to go through because the taxes are already sitting with the IRS, she said. They can link to the IRS and import it into the FAFSA.'”
