College Aid Changes Take Effect; Sessions Scheduled to Help Applicants

Applying for college is certainly an exciting time for students! Of course, along with the excitement comes the reality of having to pay for college. That’s why it is important that students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form is key to qualifying for a variety of types of aid, including grants, loans, scholarships and work-study. It is used to determine both federal aid and that originating from both public and private schools.

Fortunately, this year, students can begin the FAFSA as early as October 1, and College Foundation of North Carolina is ready to help students and parents complete the form. From hands-on help during FAFSA Day to call-in support at 866-866-CFNC to workshops throughout the state, help is available to families who need to complete the FAFSA.
